Few lessons I have learnt from being a storytelling Photographer
1.As a storyteller your work speak and aim towards more clarity than sharpness
2. Only work on the texture or even increase the texture only if the fabric in some way has some sort of story to tell.
3. When you are dealing with a work with many colors try as much as possible to reduce the saturation a bit I know you would be curious as to why I said so, you see the human eyes can only focus on a few things at a time and as a story teller you would want your work to not only look pleasing to the eye but also capture their minds and interact with their emotions and letting your viewers having to deal with ordeal of having to sync the many colors at once whilst try to focus on the story your work is telling can be a quite tasking.
4. Increasing or decreasing the level of warmth has a lot to do with mood of story you want to tell and the colour tone you are working with or the color tone you want to stand out more in the picture
Let me explain further
i: increasing the level of warmth in a picture can add a sense of life, a sense of relatability or a sense of nostalgia Which is a good thing especially if that is the story you are hoping to portray in your image on the other hand
ii.increasing the level of warmth in a picture which has color yellow has a dominant color i.e: a picture that has a very sharp presence of yellow color in it, in this case increasing the warmth could over shadow the presence of the yellow in it and you wouldn’t want that especially if you are trying to tell a story with a vibrant yellow 💛 color rather a reduced warmth giving a bit of a blue 💙 over tone.
