The “achieving”woman.
You know, it won’t be a bad idea to turn my DMs into safe spaces for women who want to brag about their hard-earned achievements, the achieving woman who is scared of publicly announcing her wins because of conversation like "so what if you are a woman and you bought a car with your hard-earned money ".
These conversations undermine the fact that the "achieving woman" might have had to save up for three years just to get that car, might have had to put up with her annoying boss or clientele for those three years of working towards that achievement, and after all this she had to endure, you expect her not to brag about it or deny herself her flowers?
Conversations like this have been perpetrated for ages by men and women who feel insecure about the " achieving woman". Yesterday I was discussing with my female friend (an achieving woman) and she was telling me how excited she felt when she worked and saved up to get her first iPhone. She said ( quoting her direct words)
“As a woman, the pride I got from buying my iPhone myself, you’ll think it’s iPhone 14 I bought...” ".
From her words, I could feel the excitement coursing through the conversation, and It got me thinking about so many achieving women, who gives these women their flowers🌹when they conquer their silent milestones?
So I am choosing to make my Dm a safe space for the "achieving woman" to share her achievements, so if you worked hard to pay for an expensive data analysis course or you worked hard to get your dream hair, all forms of achievement is welcomed — come and share it with me because this is a safe space where you don't need to hide your Wins for fear of being unfairly criticized, let me be giving you your flower🌹.
Until the world is ready to acknowledge you as the gem and Pacesetters that you are, I am going to always be here clapping loudly for you.
PS: yes! I call her the "achieving" woman because the term achieving signifies an action( a verb) not just an attribute (adjective) tagged to a woman.
